Instagram Photo Frame

Hello Everyone! It has been awhile! Our 15 month old is keeping us extremely busy leaving me very little time to do any crafty projects or blogging. I had an night last week that I put everything else aside on my to-do list so that I could transform an old frame into a colorful place to hang my favorite Instagram photos.

I love how it turned out!

House Haven Tour: The Wood Grain Cottage

Hello! I'm Shayna from The Wood Grain Cottage. Shayna | The Wood <br />Grain Cottage

I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to be here today. BIG thanks to Chas for featuring our home on her Haven Home Tour series. What an honor! This is such a wonderful series! Our home is absolutely our haven. We've built our home from the ground up and chose every detail along the way. Even with that, we're in the process of injecting a bit more of our personality and style. We love DIY projects, we love wood grain and we love cottage style- hence, The Wood Grain Cottage. I'm a firm believer that there's no place like home, so I've made it my mission to make our home the happiest place around. It is, after all, our haven and escape from the everyday world. .ENJOY. the tour! The kitchen is most definitely the heart of our home and the place where I spend the most time. Planning for a Kitchen Plate Wall

I have been loving all the colorful plate walls I have seen around the web lately! I have been gathering inspiration on my Pinterest Board. Here are a few of my favorites…

{Silver Lining Décor}

As you can see what I love varies quite a bit. Last week I had a moment to look through a whole bottom shelf of vintage plates at our local Habitat for Humanity Resale Store. I was down on my knees going through piles and piles seeing what spoke to me. The two that I came home with had very little detail to them. Just a simple border in the accent colors of our kitchen.

The plate below is a favorite of mine. I have had it for almost 15 years.

It may take me awhile to find just what I am looking for, but the thrill of the hunt is what I love about thrifting!
